過硫酸鈉為強氧化劑,可用作氧化劑,可將Cr3+、Mn2+等氧化成相應(yīng)的高氧化態(tài)化合 物,當(dāng)有Ag+存在時,可促進(jìn)上述氧化反應(yīng);利用其氧化性可用作漂白劑、金屬表面處理劑、化學(xué)試劑;醫(yī)藥原料;電池、乳液聚合反應(yīng)的促進(jìn)劑和引發(fā)劑。如活化過硫酸鈉可用于原位修復(fù)石油類污染土壤的工程,過硫酸鈉可以在未受污染的土壤環(huán)境中穩(wěn)定存在,在純砂石含水層中過硫酸鈉可以穩(wěn)定存在達(dá)2 年之久,如果含水層土壤中含有2%的Fe( Ⅲ) 或Mn( Ⅳ) ,則過硫酸鈉可以存在1 年。
