過硫酸銨是一種白色、無味晶體，常作強氧化劑使用，(NH4)2S2O8無色單斜晶體，有時略帶淺綠色，比重1.982，在120攝氏度分解，放出氧氣，生成焦硫酸銨(NH4)2S2O7。干燥時穩(wěn)定，含水時逐漸分解，放出氧氣和臭氧。溶于水，加熱即分解。用作試劑、氧化劑、脫臭劑、漂白劑等。由濃硫酸銨溶液電解氧化后結晶而制得也可用作單體聚合引發(fā)劑。它幾乎不吸潮，由于能達到很高的純度而具有特別好的穩(wěn)定性，便于儲存。另外，它還具有使用方便、等優(yōu)點。用途：過硫酸銨是乳膠或丙烯酸單體聚合液、醋酸乙烯、氯乙烯等產(chǎn)品的引發(fā)劑，同時也是苯乙烯、丙烯腈、丁二烯等膠體發(fā)生共聚作用的引發(fā)劑。作為一種強氧化劑有以下用途：
